Michael Klepper - News Director

plaque2008 CBA "Best Coverage of a Single News Event" and "Regularly Scheduled Newscast"

Born and raised in Ewing Township, New Jersey. The youngest of 3 children. After graduating from The Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey, I traveled down South where he received his Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Communications from Longwood College in Farmville, VA. Its was during my Freshman year in college that I joined the campus radio station, WLCX 90.1fm and caught the broadcasting bug. In 4 years I served as music director to WLCX and helped organize several music events including the very first WLCX Band Fest which celebrated it's 14th year in 2007. In 1998 I packed up all of my worldly possessions and made the move to Colorado. After bouncing up and down the front range, I moved to Breckenridge in September of 2005 and am currently the News Director for KCMV 106.3, KSMT 102.1 and KRKY am930. In 2007 I was honored by the Colorado Broadcaster's Association with an award for the Best Regularly Scheduled News Cast in Colorado's medium market for 2006.....the radio station office has a very large wall and I expect to fill it with many more awards in the future :)

Scotty (M-F Morning Show) 6-10am

plaque

2008 CBA “Best Morning Show” and “Best On-Air Personality”

Scotty was a juggler and stand-up comedian for most of the last few decades. He nows divides his time between the KCMV morning show and as a ninja for the CIA. As a middle managment ninja Scotty mostly works in the purchasing department ordering ninja stars and funny black clothes. His recent suggestion to get away from the dreary black that all ninjas seem to wear, to a more festive motif has been implemented. Now ninjas are wearing bright spring patterns and fun florals that have led to increased morale throughout the ranks.

Scotty is a Colorado native, having grown up in Denver, he also paints pretty pictures that can be seen in some galleries and restaurants around Breckenridge. When Scotty is not on the air or ordering stationary for the ninjas; he can be found telemark skiing, hiking or riding bikes around Summit County.Scotty supplements his vast wealth by selling black-market ritalin and xanax to school kids.

Kari (M-F Midday) 10-3pm

Kari Barr

I have always been a music lover! I can remember playing records on my little plastic record player when I was 5 years old and my all time favorites were the Oak Ridge Boys' “Elvira” and the Beatles' “Come Together”. I tried the whole disc jockey thing at Michigan State University (the best college ever!) and I absolutely loved it!  I fell in love with CO while working at Rocky Mountain National Park for a summer and decided to live in Colorado immediately after college graduation.  I lived in Estes Park for a year, I planted flowers and ate the Burrito Man’s yummy breakfast burritos.  Yes, I was a “Bendover Girl”! Eventually, I made my way to Summit County and managed to go skiing just about everyday. I ventured into the radio station with my resume in hand and learned about this new station called KCMV. I was impressed with the playlist and before I knew it, I became the midday girl!

KCMV is truly my dream job!  When I am not on the air, I am busy planning events like our Breckenridge Beer Festivals and the Free Family Fun Fest. You might even notice some of my graphic arts work in newspaper ads and on posters for the radio stations.  In the very little spare time I have, you can find me hanging with my man and our dog Ruteki, at a show, playing disc golf, hiking, skiing, freestyle walking, jumping in a cold lake, taking a spin on the Go-Ped, drinking a cold beer or Long Island, doing “the worm”, playing softball, or just soaking up the Colorado sun!

Spence (M-F Afternoons) 3-7pm

My radio career started way back in the 20th century, just outside of the Motor City. We were still using these things called "records" from time to time. It was at a small station, WOVI. It was here i began my radio days as a disc jockey and sports broadcaster. After WOVI, i attended Michigan State University where i laid the foundation for an award winning Sports Department at WDMB. Yes, the same station as Kari. She's been following in my footsteps ever since. After graduation I b-lined it to Aspen and KSPN. After my one year plan turned into 4, I was off to Denver spending time at KOOL 105 and 950 The Fan. I grew tired of looking at the mountains from a distance and in 2005, I found my home at KCMV.

Growing up in the great city of Detroit muisc was as much apart of day to day life as the Red Wings and the Lions... with Motown's Temptations, Four Tops and the Supremes...Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band...Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop...how could I not be in the music industry? And I can hear them all on KCMV! Along the way, i've had the wonderful opportunity to meet David Crosby, Willie Nelson, Warren Haynes, Michael Jordan, Coolio and many others. All while living in Colorado. So far so good!
