K-CMV AWARDS JANUARY SCHOLARSHIP
K-CMV “Colorado’s Mountain Voice” Announces January Community Connection Scholarship Winner, Brittany Moore
K-CMV “Colorado’s Mountain Voice”, in conjunction with the Summit Foundation, has awarded the January Community Connection Scholarship of $1063 to Brittany Moore of Summit High School. Brittany has proved to be an exceptional student and has dedicated much of her time to the community. K-CMV is honored to present Brittany with the Community Connection Scholarship that she can use to further her education at the school of her choice. She will attend University of Colorado.
Brittany Moore is very involved with a number of organizations that work to improve the community. Brittany has been the president of her SHS Leadership Class for three years and she is the first CHSAA State Representative. From helping teachers at Silverthorne Elementary create projects for students, to organizing a pancake breakfast for the Summit Middle School 7th graders bullying prevention conference, to planning school climate activities, Brittany has proved that she is a leader. Brittany has gained humanitarian awareness by participating in fundraising for children in Kenya and Habitat for Humanity. Brittany also devotes her time to the Summit County Sheriff Citizen’s Advisory Committee, the Summit Prevention Alliance, and was the SHS Student Representative for the 2007 County Elections, just to name a few.
K-CMV will be awarding $1063 Community Connection Scholarships monthly through May 2008 to high school seniors in Summit, Grand, Routt, Moffat and Eagle Counties. K-CMV is also awarding a community minded student studying Agricultural Studies, Veterinary Medicine, Ranching or Forestry a $5000 Agricultural Studies Scholarship and a $2500 Vocational Scholarship to a student pursuing a vocational or technical career.
